Betr is a new company founded in 2022 by Simplebet co-founder Joey Levy and social media star Jake Paul. Levy is excited about the launch of his unique brand in the landscape of Massachusetts sports betting and issued the following statement through the company website.
“We are thrilled to launch Betr Betting in Massachusetts, home of some of the world’s greatest sports franchises and fans,”
“We will be just the 7th operator to enter the state, only trailing FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, WynnBet, and Barstool to market. Not bad for a company that launched less than a year ago with vastly fewer resources than pretty much all industry incumbents. We would like to thank the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for their partnership and we are excited to introduce Betr to the Commonwealth’s top notch sports ecosystem.”
Levy said in the release.
Betr has been accepting real-money wagers in Ohio since January with plans to open in several other unnamed states at some point in 2023.
What is Micro Betting?
Micro betting is a relatively new form of sports betting that involves placing small wagers on very short-term events within a sporting event.
Rather than betting on the outcome of an entire game, micro betting allows you to bet on things like the next point in a tennis match, the next drive in a football game, or the outcome of the next at-bat in a baseball game.
These wagers typically only involve small amounts of money and are settled very quickly, often within seconds.
While some people enjoy the fast-paced excitement of micro betting, others have raised concerns about the potential for problem gambling and the impact it could have on the integrity of sports.
Betr also Launches Scripts
Scripts is the micro-betting version of a parlay and is another unique product to hit US sports betting markets. According to the company website, scripts “combines the instant gratification of a microbet with the long odds of a parlay. This product is a first-of-its-kind experience and effectively introduces instant gratification to parlays, which may make Scripts one of the primary ways fans bet on sports over time.”
Scripts offer bettors the opportunity to make a MLB wager such as the outcome of each of the first three batters of the half-inning before the half-inning starts
